omaneo — The Way of Coffee
Everything there is to learn about coffee
The Way of Coffee is our non-fiction book. It asks a single question: the espresso in your cup this morning — where does it come from, how many hands has it passed through, and what had to be done right on every metre of the way for it to taste like that?
It is told by a man from the Lower Rhine. He has just finished a barista course, pulls an espresso in his kitchen that is genuinely good — and realises he cannot say why. He takes a year off and travels the chain backwards, all the way to the source.
Everything lies along that road: botany and cultivation, harvest and processing, trade, the exchange and transport, roasting, grinding, water, extraction — and at the end your own tongue. Every factual claim has been checked and documented; we name the sources on request. And still it reads like a journey, not like a textbook.
Four hundred and ninety-six pages, with pencil drawings. You can read it, download it or listen to it — let me show you where to get it.
